A Solemn Assembly

This weekend I and my family had the opportunity to sustain a new President and Prophet of the Church. We explained to the girls how important this was and I truly do know what a blessing it is in my life to have a mouthpiece of the LORD on the earth today. The talks were really good and I was able to receive some answers I had been searching for. We were all at moms for dinner tonight. It was a buffet of casseroles. All very good. It is a true blessing to have family so close that we have the chance to get together as much as we do and the cousins get to play and build their relationships. I wish Jeff an Chrissy were closer so they could be with us. I enjoy the time we spend when we visit them. We don't get up there as much as I would like. I am so proud of Jeff and Chrissy and what they have accomplished in their community. Steve's birthday was the 3rd. I was not able to make it to his grave but thought about him all day. It has been almost 12 years since he passed. He is definitely loved and missed. Natalee's first daughter Ashton turns 14 this month on the 21st. Two more years and she could start looking for us? Who knows it would be nice. Until later then.

April Fools

Today has been a good day. Nothing eventful happened. No good jokes. I did hear a commercial on the radio the other day that really made me mad. I was talking about teens getting STD's and that they didn't know how they got one. The one line in there that really bothered me was something like, "I will always use a condom when I have sex". So we as a society have accepted the fact that "everybody" is having sex and we might as well protect them. So instead of getting at the root of the problem, such as teaching children values and that having sex should wait until marriage. Oh well, I will continue to teach my kids that waiting is better.
